Hi again, Thursday seems to be the day, but everyone must have been at work or back in school. The surf has come up and looks to peak at about 5 metres late today. Here are few photos from todays surf.
The big surf is back. These photos are from Narrabeen. You would think it was Hawaii. These guys were towed on due to the size and speed of the waves. Been a very incredible winter so far.
The surf is still pumping in Sydney. Probably for one more day then it will start to die.See the photos of Dee Why Point. In one photo you will see a tiny black dot inside a tube. That is a boogie board rider. No sense, no fear. ENJOY!!
DEE WHY POINT DEE WHY HOWLING OFFSHORE WIND NORTH AVALON NICE DAY AT COLLAROY
Sydney is getting rain and cold air and big surf. Collaroy Beach is slowly washing into the sea. And judging by these photos it still is. Some houses have lost part of their front yards.
Well it finally had to happen. A really wild weather and surf change. Waves up to 5 metres on the local beaches expected to reach 12 metres. 17.5 metres out to sea. It is supposed to get even worse or better depending on your preferences. There is one large coal boat stuck on Nobbys Beach in New Castle, about 2 hours north of Sydney with two more on the way, hopefully they won't make it to the beach. Note the guy on one of the wave photos.
The old compost pit was getting out of control, so Jane and I moved it to higher ground and a new design. It is built out of all recycled materials. The upright post are made from an old Hills Hoist and the walls from our old fence palings. The compost in the new ones is from the old pit reduced by about 50% after jumping up and down on it to reduce the bulk.
Dylan O'Leary finally make his first appearance on "BLUEBIRDS"with his mate Alexander. This photo was taken over Christmas and really a before and after photo of his bedroom. I don't think any explanation is necessary.
It is with great sadness that I have to report WEBER died last week.Aged 16 years. As I was getting ready to BBQ and brought him out of his dry home, the right wheel fell off and pushed a hole thru his base. Result, end of BBQ'D pork chops and sweet potatoes for dinner that night. He has been replaced with a newer model and we are BBQing again.
It's been a while since I've posted anything. But the wait is over now. I have started to rebuild the old falling down pergola (Ramada). We had a quote for about $1500.00 from a carpenter, so I thought I could do it myself for a lot less. So far the cost has been $81.00 and all thats left to do is put the laserlight top on about a cost of about $150.00. Boy I am clever!!
Sunday afternoon was spent with the Stylers for lunch. Nick, Lis, Chris and Nicks parents visiting from the UK came. We had nibbles, cold meat, salads and Janes famous BANANA cake. There was a great deal of talking and laughing. A wonderful day was had by all. We may even have a new guitar virtuoso with Chris taking to the old Fender like a seasoned master.
